I didn't have a safe place to land, so I built one.

About me

Who I am, what I know, and what I've lived

I'm Lakeyla Weldon, 22, a creator and creative director in Greenville. I've provided for myself for a long time, and I did a lot of it without anyone to ask for help. That taught me to build with my own hands: a business, a routine, a community, a life that holds.

What I know comes from living it. I know how to start over in a new city, how to make a plan when money is tight, how to build a morning that steadies you, and how to turn a hard season into something you can learn from. I lean on my faith and the wisdom traditions I'm learning from, and I share what has helped me. I speak from gratitude, love, and hope.

What I'm not: I'm not a doctor, therapist, lawyer, or crisis counselor. I listen, I mentor, I coach, and I point you to the right professional when you need one.

Words I keep close

A few lines to carry

A safe place is not a promise. It is a system you can actually use.

I built the room I needed.

You do not have to explain your way into being cared for.

Warm is a strategy.

Hope is something you can hold, so I make it small enough to carry.

Every season taught me something. I thank it, then I keep walking.
